Windows & Performance

What type of windows are best for the NC coast?

For our region, we recommend impact-resistant vinyl or fiberglass frames. Vinyl is excellent for resisting corrosion from salt spray, while impact-rated glass is a must-have for homes in high-wind zones to protect against flying debris during storm season.

Doors & Security

Will a wood door warp in the North Carolina heat?

Traditional wood is beautiful but can struggle with our 80% humidity. We typically recommend fiberglass entry doors. They mimic the look of real wood grain but won't swell, rot, or crack when the weather shifts from a morning thunderstorm to a scorching afternoon.

Siding & Maintenance

What is the best siding for high-moisture environments?

James Hardie® Fiber Cement is our top recommendation. Unlike wood, it isn't affected by moisture or termites, and unlike thin vinyl, it won't rattle or blow off in high winds. It's also fire-resistant, which can sometimes help with insurance premiums.

Installation & Service

How long does a typical installation take?

Most window replacement projects are completed in 1 to 2 days. A single entry door installation typically takes about 4 to 6 hours. Siding projects run 1–2 weeks depending on square footage. We aim to minimize disruption so your home is sealed back up by sundown.
